Continentale: aperitifs on the roof overlooking the Arno

A very elegant ‘haute couture' address and one of the first boutique hotels in Florence. Its minimalist decor attracts fashion professionals and fans during the Pitti Immagine trade salon.

This little gem, one of the six establishments in the Lungarno Collection of the Salvatore Ferragamo Group, sings fashion from every angle. Witness in the early 1950s to the first ready-to-wear fashion show, which was held at the Palazzo Pitti, the Continentale's rooms, corridors, lounge, and bar are filled with black and white fashion photographs.

The Florentine interior designer Michele Bönan was inspired by the all-white Sala Bianca of the Palazzo Pitti, where Italian designers like Irene Galitzine, Carosi, and, of course, Salvatore Ferragamo held their runway shows. The decor is refined and immaculate, with beautiful, handcrafted and custom-made leather furniture. In addition, at any time of day or night, you can take a glass al fresco in La Terrazza bar on the top floor of the medieval Consorti tower.
