Reduced mobility and other disabilities

Is your mobility reduced due to disability, age or illness? Air France will assist you throughout your journey.
In the context of the health situation, Air France has put in place strict measures to welcome you safely.
In order to safeguard your health, special precautions are taken as soon as you arrive at the airport:

  • The wheelchairs at your disposal are disinfected every day and between each use.
  • Agents accompanying you must wear a mask and gloves.
  • Plexiglas protective screens are installed on the welcome desks dedicated to you.
  • A mask will be provided to you if you do not have one.

For more information, please read about the health measures we have implemented at the airport. Some countries require special travel documents, quarantine on arrival, a recent negative Covid-19 test or other health certificates. Please check the entry and stay requirements of your transit and destination countries. For more information, please visit the TravelDoc website.

Wearing a surgical mask is mandatory on board our aircraft. Please make sure you have several surgical masks for the duration of your trip.

We have created a guide to help you plan your trip. You will find information, practical advice and an overview of the services that AirFrance has to offer.

Bookings and special assistance

You can book your ticket online, , contact an Air France ticket office, or contact Saphir, our assistance service for passengers with reduced mobility.

In order for us to best meet your needs, please make your request for assistance when you book your ticket, at least 48 hours before your departure.  Please go to the "Your disability" section of the website Your disability.

Some requests for assistance require additional information: traveling with a wheelchair or other personal mobility device, with a guide dog, etc. In these cases, after you book your flight online, a Saphir agent will contact you to help organize your trip.

Travel companion and medical clearance

For your safety, please check to see if you need to travel with a companion and if you need medical clearance.
Useful information
  • Consider booking a direct flight in order to ensure a smooth trip and minimize the handling of your wheelchair
  • If your trip includes a connecting flight, we recommend you allow a minimum of 1.5 hours transit time between your flights.
  • If your flight is operated by one of our airline partners, their rules will apply. Please contact a Saphir agent to find out more.
